Halal Integrity: A Comparative Study of Cutting-Edge Technologies
Abstract
Global halal supply chains are increasingly complex. As such, defending halal integrity is crucial for consumer trust and regulatory compliance. This paper explores a comparative analysis on the efficacy of modern technologies in bolstering Halal assurance. Specifically, we look into block chain, spectroscopic techniques (Near Infrared, Raman, and Mass Spectrometry), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on their roles in traceability, authentication, monitoring, and fraud detection. Beyond their primary purpose, the study examines the accuracy, reliability, scalability, transparency, and cost-effectiveness of each technology considering their integration into the Halal context as well as the existing limitations. It was concluded that all technologies, while distinct in their offerings, are most effective when holographic ally applied in unison to build seamless and transparent systems for Halal integrity assurance. This study seeks to demonstrate the ecosystem's revolution through advanced technologies while elevating stakeholders’ confidence.
