Criticism of Imam Shahabuddin Al -Qarafi on Christian beliefs related to Jesus (AS)

Abstract

Most of the beliefs that differ between Muslims and Christians are related to prophet “Isa” (Jesus Christ). Muslims believe that Jesus was the servant and messenger of Allah Almighty. He was granted miracles by Allah Almighty. These miracles are mentioned in the Holy Quran. The Holy Quran has mentioned titles like "Kalmatullah" (The Word of God) and "Ruhullah "(The Spirit of Allah) for him.One of his most important honors is that Allah saved him from the clutches of the Jews and Romans and raised him alive. On the contrary, Christians have associated such beliefs with Jesus which are completely different from the beliefs of Muslims. The doctrine of the Trinity is popular among Christians. The belief in the Trinity is popular with Christians. They have declared Jesus as the son of God and the Divine attribute. They believe that Jesus was conspired by the Jews and arrested by the Roman government then he was killed on the cross. To prove these beliefs, Paul of Antioch wrote his work "A letter to Muslim Friend". Instead of adopting the traditional apologetic style of other Christian scholars, Paul adopted a new approach. He argued from the verses of the Holy Quran to justify the beliefs and claimed that all the beliefs of the Christians are proved by the Holy Quran. Imam “Shahab al-Din al-Qarafi” has presented the answer to this work of Paul of Antioch. This paper presents an analytical study of the points presented by Paul and the detailed answers of Imam Al-Qarafi in response. The detailed arguments have also been presented from the point of view of reason and logic. The summary and further evidences have also been described in this regard.
