Abstract

Ahadith are the second most important Argument of Islam after the Holy Qur'an.  Since the first century, the scholars have been rendering many services in terms of compilation, arrangement, interpretation and revision of the Ahadith.  In short, Allama Suyuti's book Jami Sagheer has great importance in the academic field regarding the compilation of the texts of Ahadith and the commandment on them. Allama Manawi's book Faiz-al-Qadeer is an excellent interpretation of Jami Sagheer, which contains valuable discussions on the revision and criticism of Ahadith along with other topics. Allama Munawi critically evaluates the corrections and weakening of Allama Suyuti and sometimes disagrees with them, which is referred to as "Ta'aqqubat".  In this article, a critical and research review of Allama Manawi's pursuits on the correction and weakening of Allama Suyuti is presented, and the results obtained from this research are presented.
