Dialogue between Allah Almighty and Prophet Yunus (PBUH): An Analytical Study of the Methodology of the Commentators

Abstract

Quran is the last book of Allah and the source of universal guidance.It contains all the instructions for mankind to succeed in life.There are about 26 prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran. Allah Ta'ala spoke to some of these Prophets according to the requirements of the time.Allah Ta'ala has mentioned that discussion in the same wording or a part of it in the form of revelation in the Holy Qur'an.It contains lessons for mankind leading up to the Day of Resurrection.The commentators have derived many lessons from these dialogues between Allah and the Prophets according to their wisdom.By taking guidance from them, a person can achieve success in this world and the hereafter.This is clear from the dialogue between Allah Almighty and Yunus (peace be upon him) That Allah Ta'ala accepts the supplications of His servant in the darkest situation from time to time and saves him from the greatest calamity.The condition is that the servant considers Allah Almighty as his savior in every situation and prays to Him.The purpose of this research is to discuss the dialogues between Allah and the Prophets and especially learn a lesson from  the dialogue between Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) and Allah.Moreover, in this research the methodology and interpretation,of commentators in this matter will be highlighted.
