Abstract

Imam Abu Abdullah Qurtubi was a well-known exegete of the Maliki school of law. He wrote a Tafsir in 12 volumes and explained the arguments of different jurisprudential schools of thought. He was born in the 6th century A.H. and left this world in 1274. Imam Qurtubi began his education under the shadow of his father and acquired the prevailing sciences in Andalusia, including Arabic grammar, jurisprudence and Qur'anic sciences. He got fame in the whole world because of his.This is the reason why this commentary has been under research on from different angles for eight centuries and it is still a thirst for research. This commentary of Imam Qurtubi is a jurisprudential commentary. He look at the opinions fairly and describe the opinion that he think is preferable with the words "I SAY". In this article, Imam Qurtubi's jurisprudential Tafsir has been reviewed.
