Islamic and Western Cultural Discourses in Kalam-e-Akbar

Abstract

The issue of clash of civilizations is of great importance in the present times. Every conscious and thoughtful person seems to think and talk about it. In the history of Indo-Pak, the name of Akbar Illah Abadi is on the top of the list among the personalities who spoke on this issue from literary sources. In the presented paper, the discussion of Islamic and Western civilization is described through the words of Akbar. The thought of Akbar Illah Abaadi is covered which is represented in his poems. Opinions of thinkers and critics in this regard have also been included in the paper to help in understanding Akbar's thought. Akbar has explained the reasons and motivations of the complex debate that has been sparked in the present era due to cultural references. The presented research paper will help in understanding Akbar's foresight and literary and intellectual position. Many aspects have been described in Akbar's speech regarding the importance of Islamic civilization and the modern civilization of the West. On the basis of these, an attempt has been made to understand the various aspects of Akbar's thought.
